Cleaning Non-Stick Cookware

There can be a little bit of a challenge when it comes to nonstick cookware. Although, they are much easier to use when cooking they can be a little bit of a pain to keep clean. There are however some simple tips that will help you keep it clean and save yourself lots of hassle.

1. Always make sure you read the manufacturer’s instructions when you purchase the nonstick cookware. They may have something different in here that you’re not expecting. They may have recommendations that are exclusive to those particular brands. If you have discarded the manual (which happens a lot of us) a simple trip to the manufactures website should help you find information to point you in the right direction or give you guidance on how to clean their product properly.

2. Once you have finished cooking you need to rinse the cookware as soon as possible. You shouldn’t let food dry as you may need to then I scrape it off which in turn caused damage the nonstick coating. Nonstick coating is made from polytetrafluoroethylene (which is a big unpronounceable word) it is also known as PTFE and is a syntactic. The first cookware to appear was in 1961 when Teflon released the first coated frying pan (little bit down history lane for you) okay back to topic…

3. If you are leaving your nonstick cookware to soak always soak it in plain water

4. Make sure not to leave it soaking for long periods in sudsy water. This can have an effect on the coating as it cooled picked up this soapy flavor.

5. You should only use plastic, wooden or silicone utensils when cleaning any nonstick coating. If you use anything else like metal scrubbing pads you have a possibility of scraping and scratching the coating. Many people recommend that you use a silicon utensil as they can easily help clean at higher temperatures without melting. Also, they tend not to just call her as you may notice that some plastics.

6. If you are still having problems and it is not cleaning properly you can use a nylon scrubbing pad or brush. Make sure you have warm sudsy water as this actually helps. If you are still finding you are having problems and the food still remains on the bottom of the pond you can use something like baking soda and water. Simply cover the bottom of the pan and you’ll start to see this solution working in the water begins to turn brown.

7. Make sure you remove all all from the pan once you have used it. If you do not do this the oil soaked into the pores of the pan which in turn reduces the effectiveness of the nonstick coating.

8. Make sure you dry thoroughly after you have watched the pan using a dry cloth.

I really hope these tips help in that it gives you a better insight into how to clean your nonstick cookware properly. Generally want you to maintain them properly they will last you for years. You just need to ensure that you do not use any scouring pads that may actually scratched the surface and caused him much to the material that is used on the pan. This is generally very tin can be damaged easily if not cared for in the correct manner.
